PUBLIC NOTICE
REGARDING DANGEROUS BUILDINGS
It is hereby notified for the information of the general public and residents of Faisal Cantonment that, in the interest of public safety and well-being, an inspection of various buildings conducted by this office within its jurisdiction. These inspections were carried out as a precautionary measure ahead of the monsoon season. During the inspections, serious concerns were identified regarding the structural integrity of certain buildings and found lack of fire safety measures. Issues observed include multiple cracks, exposed and rusted steel (revealed after removal of concrete cover), water seepage, improper sanitary fittings, and ongoing leakage, all indicative of poor maintenance. These conditions may lead to potential structural instability.

The following buildings have been found to be in a highly unsafe condition and are unfit for human habitation. Immediate evacuation is advised until a thorough structural assessment is conducted. In this regard, concerned Builders, Resident Welfare Associations/Unions and the residents are required to engage a qualified well reputed structural engineer registered with Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) to carry out a comprehensive structural evaluation. A detailed report certifying that the building is safe for occupation must be submitted to this office within 07 days of this notice.

Furthermore, all necessary fire safety measures must be implemented without delay. These include the installation of fire exits, provision of fire extinguishers, and other essential fire prevention systems as per relevant codes and standards. Additionally, a certificate from a licensed Electrical Engineer must be submitted, certifying that all electrical wiring in the building is safe and in accordance with the relevant standards. All costs associated with the assessment shall be borne by the Builder, Resident Welfare Association/Union and residents.

It has been observed with serious concern that despite previous warnings and reminders issued via individual notices and public announcements, no substantial action has been taken by the concerned Builders, Associations/Union and residents to address the deteriorating conditions of these buildings.

In case of failure to comply with the above directions, if any untoward incident occurs including loss of life or property, the Cantonment Board Faisal shall not be held responsible. Full liability shall rest with the relevant Builder, Association/Union and the residents due to negligence or failure to act.
