Pakistan Marine Academy

The Pakistan Marine Academy (PMA) has announced admissions for its 64th Batch of Cadets in Nautical (Deck) and Marine Engineering branches. This is a golden opportunity for young, ambitious Pakistanis to join the Merchant Navy and see the world while receiving top-tier training and internationally recognized certifications.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Unmarried male citizens of Pakistan.

  • Age not more than 20 years as of 31 December 2025.

  • Candidates from FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, AJK, and Balochistan can avail a one-year age relaxation (max 21 years).

Academic Qualification

  • F.Sc. Pre-Engineering or A-Level (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) with at least 55% marks.

  • O/A-Level candidates must submit an Equivalence Certificate.

  • F.Sc. Part-II/A-Level appearing candidates with 60% in Part-I can apply but must submit a Hope Certificate from their institution.

  • Failure to secure 55% in F.Sc. final exams will result in disqualification.

How to Register

  1. Download the Prospectus & Application Form from PMA Website or collect from the Admission Office.

  2. Submit the form along with a bank draft of Rs. 4,000/- (in favor of Pakistan Marine Academy, Karachi) at National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), PMA Branch Code-0239.

Selection Procedure

  1. Entrance Test (Minimum 50% marks required) at major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Quetta, Peshawar, Multan, Gwadar, Sukkur, and Muzaffarabad (AJK).

  2. Medical Examination at designated Army/Navy Hospitals.

  3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Final Interview for shortlisted candidates.

Education, Training & Certifications

  • Two-year residential training at PMA.

  • Associate Degree in Nautical Science & Marine Engineering awarded by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.

  • IMO-recognized Pre-Sea Mandatory Courses.

  • 33 need-based scholarships sponsored by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs:

    • Balochistan (15)

    • KPK (6)

    • Punjab (6)

    • Sindh (6)

Ineligibility Conditions

  • Tampered documents, false information, or incomplete applications.

  • Previously dismissed from any academy/Armed Forces.

  • Medically unfit (including color blindness).

  • Diploma holders (DAE) and non-science students are not eligible.
